Two kids at 30...

I am officially 30! Not that it was ever unofficial it just happened yesterday so the shock is still there. I had to post pictures I took yesterday while I was hanging out with the kiddos. Cale and Lanna are both doing great and I can't wait to post Halloween pictures after tonight. I know you are gonna think I am strange but I found the outfit that I took Cale's picture in when he was 3 weeks old earlier in the week and since yesterday Lanna was 3 weeks I stuck her in it to compare the two. Here are the results...you can't deny that they are brother and sister except for the fact that she has been hitting the bottle a little harder than he did.

(Cale at 3 weeks)

What a weekend...

Well sorry for the lack of updates but I had to have surgery on Friday because I was bleeding entirely too much post baby. I recovered at home all alone on Friday and most of the day Saturday. My parents graciously took my two kiddos to their house so I could sleep the day away. Oh how I owe them. I was out of it most of the time anyway so I wouldn't have know if anyone was there or not. Jeff and the Jackets are 8-0 and are one win away from clinching the seed they want in the playoffs...such a big deal around here. Lanna is doing good. Found out she has her first ear infection so she is on antibiotics. Cale is doing great...loving Lala's house during the day and getting to spend extra time with daddy at night. I now have a dishwasher...ours has been out since January. I am thrilled that it will be installed tonight. I will have to post the new pics later...I hear a crying baby.

My hubby and kiddos...

(Cale and Jeff December 2006)

(Lanna and Jeff October 2008)

So Jeff has to work all the time but I did manage to sneak a picture of him getting in some lovin' time with Lanna today. Iam posting the picture of him and Cale that is just like the picture I took today. I am so glad we will have these pictures to share with the kiddos when they are older. I think they will love them! I can't get over how much Cale and Lanna look alike!!!

A little Cale and Lanna lovin'...

Well I had to add the short video I took of Cale and Lanna this morning during awake time. Every morning when Cale wakes up he has to give Lanna a kiss and rub her head. I know I should enjoy this time because it is going to go by way too fast. I also understand that Cale will not want to kiss on her very much longer so I should try and capture that in pictures and video as much as possible. Turn up the sound so you can hear him.
It's pretty darn cute, at least I think so!

Cale, Lanna and Cousins...

Okay so my brother and sister-in-law brought their four kiddos by to visit yesterday evening. The kids were dying to hold Lanna since the hospital won't let kids back in the room unless they are the baby's sibling. The first picture is the first time they got to hold Cale back in December 2006. The next picture is of the same four taken Oct. 17th, 2008. I have added the newest picture of all of my parents grandkids. We have added two new ones to the mix and they do not cooperate at the same time. It was funny trying to keep them on the couch as well as keep their focus for more than 5 seconds. Lanna is the most alert newborn I have ever been around. For about an hour and a half every morning and again in the evening she is just wide awake. I took the last pic this morning during her awake time.

One week old...

I can't believe Lanna is already one week old. It seems like she just got here yesterday...but in a way it seems like she has been here much longer. All is going well. Just trying to adjust to two babies instead of one. Cale is doing great with her. He might give her sores from kissing her so much but I would rather that happen than him avoiding her. He has to kiss her and rub her head as soon as he wakes up in the morning. It's pretty cute. He has been getting to spend more time with Jeff which he loves so that has been good. Jeff took him to the store twice on Monday and then they played outside most of the day and Cale was just beaming. He loves his daddy time!!! I love it too! I am posting some pics since we have been home.

D-Day is tomorrow...

Well it looks like by this time tomorrow we will have a baby girl to call our own. After all this time I can't believe the day is here. We have to be at the hospital by 5 and then they will take me back around 7. I am so ready to meet Lanna and see what has been wearing my insides out all this time. The house is ready and we think we are too. I can't wait for Cale to meet little Lanna. I am just hoping he takes me being in a hospital bed okay...that is my main concern for him. I will post more after she arrives!!!

Swelling Feet & Bed Rest...

Well I have officially been put on bed rest! My blood pressure was high when I went to the Dr. yesterday so she thought it would be best for me to stay at home, off my feet until Thursday...yeah right! I will be getting up and taking Cale to the baby sitter so he can stay in his routine and I have about 3,000 things to do here at home before Lanna comes home. I have a crib FULL of baby stuff I have to go through and sort out before the big day. I have to wash clothes and blankets and get the diapers and wipes ready. A friend of mine is being induced Monday so I am sure my Dr. will not mind if I take a little trip to the hospital to pay her and the new addition a visit. I would say she would never know but we have the same Dr. so the chances are good we might bump into each other.
Jeff and the Denison Football team is 5-0. They had a nail biter Thursday night in McKinney. Cale and I went to the game because I know I won't be able to go anymore. They won 65-64. It was crazy. Cale fell asleep with 3 minutes left in the third quarter and slept the rest of the time. He didn't even wake up when the man in front of us lost control and rang a cow bell for 20 solid minutes. He even slept while I carried him onto the field after the game and gave him to Jeff. Jeff then carried him to the car and the poor kid was so tired he never woke up till the next morning. It's probably better that he did sleep during the game because it may have induced labor had I been able to be more involved in all the excitment.
So I will keep everyone posted on the big day and I hope that I will have pictures to post soon of the new addition. I can't believe she is almost here!
